I have used the H&R Block software for close to 20 years and have owned rental property, businesses and investments. It has always served me well, and I will continue to use it.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I have been using H&R block for 15 years. It is easy to use and I have never had filing returned or questioned by the IRS. Now I am using the the Basic Tax Software package, it will handle everything needed for my Savings interest, IRA distributions, and retirement income.
Pros: Easy to prepare

I've used this software for many years, because it was easy to use and I can retrieve all my info from the previous year so I don't have to enter it each time. I don't have internet where I live so the fact that I needed it just to install the program was a big inconvenience to me. I had to go somewhere to use wifi and attempt to install but then I found that I could no longer use it on my current laptop. I purchased a new laptop and borrowed wifi again and finally got it installed. Because all my info was on my old laptop, I couldn't retrieve it so I had to put all my info in the program again. During the process of doing my taxes I had a question and when I clicked on the help button it said I needed internet, which I didn't need in previous years. Anyway There's other tax software out there so I will be shopping around for something different next year.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very easy to use and more affordable than turbo tax. I think with the standard deduction HRBlock needs to make it even more affordable or people may just go back to paper filing or use other alternatives. I know I will be making those considerations next year.
