Good software. I have had a complaint ever since I started using this software: The lists of dividend and interest payers can not be alphabetize by the program but must be done manually. I have brought this issue several time but nothing has changed.
My lump sum SSA distribution was no fully addressed by the software requiring me to spend several hours attempting to calculate an entry based on IRS pub 915. The input that I used to complete that form was taken from both 2018 and 2019 tax returns, both calculated with TaxCut software.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I gave it four stars because it didn't prompt me to total my capital improvements in a taxable property I sold (a vacation home). It just asked for the cost basis. I know that would include capital improvements I made over the 40 years that I owned the place, so I was OK, but someone who didn't know to do that might've simply entered the original purchase price and thus over paid.

As everyone knows, tax software is amazing. I have been using it for as long as i can remember. But there were a couple snags which ruined the experience. One was when i was told AFTER SUBMITTING ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, and saw the return being sent, that i needed to update the software "before e-filing can be completed" Sounds easy right? Well what if you are using your employer-provided laptop, and an administrator has to authorize all software updates. That set me back, caused me to re-enter my credit card info more than once. Then in the return itself there was a glitch in calculating my possible underpayment penalty. I had to pay for a human to tell me to just delete form 2210 and let the IRS figure it out. Annoying
