I have used this software for years and I have never had a confusing problem.
It walks you step by step through all the steps, which works quite well.
If you need to walk away from it for a while, the software saves your place so it will reopen where you left off. It is all good!

Everyone should do their own taxes as only then will one understand the specifics and ramifications of the tax code. Just like an educated consumer is the best customer, a person who understands the tax code is the best tax payer. H&R Block Basic is relatively simple to use. At times it can be a bit confusing if you have a somewhat complicated issue with which to deal as has been the case at times over the many years that I have been using the software. However, for the average person it should more than satisfy their needs as long as one methodically and carefully answers all the questions that it asks as it guides you through the tax paying process of listing income and then taking deductions.

Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
