I have used this program for years. As of this writing I have been very happy. I will continue to use.

Another easy federal tax return submission!

I've been using H&R Block's Basic software for many years, and it never disappoints me. This software flags the changes to the form that I might otherwise neglect to fill out, things like proof of healthcare coverage, foreign tax interest received and a new question this year about disposal of virtual currency. All documents from last year's return are remembered on this year's return, so I don't accidentally forget to enter any income that needs to be reported. I always feel confident my return is prepared correctlly and accurately when I use this product and I can't recommend it highly enough!

Let me down for 2021

Have used HR Block for years.. this time, I completed my return, then had to wait a week for updates to a worksheet before I could file. Same with my gals return a week later, but closer to 2 weeks for a social security worksheet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Much better than Turbo Tax.

I have used Turbo tax most of my life, this is much more direct, easy to understand and gives great guidance

Used to be good, this year was disastrous

This year it wouldn't let me file electronically because the "Social Security Worksheet" was not updated. Then they kept pushing back the release of that. Hello! It's not a form required to be filed! Moreover, it wouldn't allow form 8911 to be e-filed although it would allow the credit for EV purchase – makes no sense. Especially since I bought this to e-file!

Military Retirement does not require a minimum distribution, program needs some work in this area.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming
