H&R Easy!

I have used H&R Block for the last 10+ years and it has never failed me. Very easy to understand and enter items. Only problem this year is the rate of updates was lacking since I usually file by mid-January when I receive all of my information but could not do it until mid-February because of late updates.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

Still loads well. Still has an interview asking the right questions. Still makes it easy to correct errors. Still the best software for the typical consumer if you ask me.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents

Even though the federal form for S.S. Income was final a month ago, it took you a month to update your software. Holding me and 50 million other customers up for a month and not being able to get our refunds in a timely manner. The free online services do a better job than you do!!!
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great with one minor quibble

Great as usual - I switched to H&R Block from TurboTax years ago and never looked back. My only quibble is that this year's program totally punted and forced me to calculate my own self-employed health insurance deduction (IRS form 535) instead of just doing it themselves, which they really should have done for me. (That's the whole reason to have a tax program, so you don't need to look at the IRS worksheets and go through them line by line. Why they wussed out on this one thing, I have no idea.)
Other than that - great value as usual.

Why have to wait til Feb 17 update to file?

I've used for years with no trouble. This year had to wait weeks for no apparent reason

I bought this program the last week of January, it was very easy to use. I completed most of my work in a few hours. If you have all your tax information ready the program ask you the necessary questions to complete the process. I had to wait to file because the program needed updated information from the IRS which was downloaded this afternoon. I was completed within a few minutes and my return filed.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
