I've been using this software ever since it was produced. The only issue I ever had is the SAVE option. I opened up the program to check something after I've all ready filed. MADE NO CHANGES. When closing, program ask me to save changes. Having made NO changes, I clicked no. DELETES THE WHOLE FILE with no way to recover them. So if the program ask you to save changes even though you made NO changes, CLICK YES.

My returns for the last 2 years have errors that had to be corrected by the IRS even though I entered the data correctly into the forms sent to them through your efile program.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

I've been using H&R Basic for many years. I have all of my tax data stored on my computer, so it's a snap to enter it into the program. With that data at hand It takes me no more than three hours to complete my taxes, and that's with both self employment and investment income. My state has no income tax, so Basic is all I've ever needed.
