Solid product, got the job done. Only disappointment was trying to take a casualty loss from Hurricane Ian. Had to chase down the FEMA #, and get together the receipts for the work and only after putting in the information and closing out did I find out I saved nothing since the damage did not exceed 10% of AGI. Would have been nice to know that when I opened the form, not after all the hassle of getting the information.
Have used HR Block tax software for 15 years without a problem during or after. Very easy to transfer date from previous years return as a starting point for current year's effort..
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
Easy to use program and covers everything I need. Price is reasonable and cheaper than turbo tax. Been using this for years and has never failed to deliver.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
H&R Block software used to be easier to use with basic terminology and I felt confident that my taxes were done correctly. This/s year's model is a little more difficult to navigate and harder to understand.
It was a total mess. Rejected my return because of H&R Block software error, then the instructions for downloading the fix did not work. Apparently the fix was downloaded without telling the victims. Rotten service!
Basic software contained all IRS forms needed and software directed me through entering income and deduction figures that end up on the forms. Software allowed for partial charitable distributions from IRA and adjusting the cost basis for a stock sell. Was able to view the resulting entries on the IRS forms. Of course, there were review and accuracy checks. The only variation from manually completing a paper return was software directed me to use O (other) for one explanation where paper instructions had additional specific codes. No problem, the result was the same.
