The program refused to accept our second W-2 Forms from the same Payer. It would not accept a blank override. No numbers were associated with that box. Because I did not want to make these changes we were forced to send our IRS forms, not by e-file, but by snail mail. We are very disappointed.

Before I could file my return, the software made me go back and complete an utterly useless work sheet that asked me to fill in information that was already contained in my return. The return was done. I was way past this. The worksheet would not even be used to file my return. Still, I had to fill in information that had been automatically entered into my return by the program which used last year's return. Why? How did this program get out of beta?
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Used this product for at least a dozen years. used for both household income as well as a couple of schedule 'C' home businesses. Now during retirement, its also very useful for trying "what if" ideas, for example to see how your tax changes with more or less IRA distributions. I don't think there was ever a year when I felt I should have bought a program version beyond the "basic" offering. Of the few times I've had trouble and needed help, I was able to call and get things resolved, as long as I don't wait until tax filing deadline is getting too close.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

Basic software easy to use with good instructions. I had a first time energy credit which was greater than my tax. The software said I pay no tax for 2022 and there will be credit carryover for 2023. I needed to call help line to see if I did everything right.. Only 10 min wait. Kinisha was good I e-filed my return.
Pros: Easy to prepare

I have purchased H&R Block software for 20= years, ever since they purchase the Tax Cut software and have been pleased with it user friendly and thoroughness covering at least all our family's needs.

I've used the H&R program for many years. The program walks you thru the questions and all you need to do is answer them and input some financial data and you're done. The program checks your work and let's you know if there are any issues.
