I'll always be a PC Software H&R Block User

I've been using H&R Block's software ever since my father taught me to do my own taxes about 22 years ago. The process has always been simple and the resources are terrific. I prefer the software installed onto my computer as I don't fully trust the online version and I like the ability to work on it without constantly being online. As far as taxes go, I've gone through several life changes and the advice and direction that H&R brings is always second to none. I've seen people go to people in person and get told unlawful advice/filings and that is never a fear here. I've never used it, but I am glad there is a guarantee if I'm ever audited that H&R Block will walk through that with me.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

I had to ammend my return because I did not realize if you used 529 plan funds to pay tuition that you could not claim the college credit. You should add a question in the college credit worksheet asking whether you used 529 plan funds to pay for tuition and if you answer yes it tells you you cannot take the credit and explain why.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

Clean Vehicle Credit

H &R Block updated the software for the Clean Vehicle Seller Report Credit, but our tax return kept being rejected by the IRS many times for the same

Good tool but some flaws.

I've use the tool for years now and find it valuable. I had a few difficulties this year. I did returns for myself and my daughter. For some reason I lost hers midstream and had to start again. Not sure why. I saw no warning re: any action I took. As you can imagine, I was disappointed.
Secondly, the print options aren't clear to me. That's been the case for each year. So, I print the basic info and save my return. then I go into my files and open the return to copy other pages where I can get a better feel for what I want to print. Then the program asks me a question about replacing the return. I don't really want to replace it, but "cancel" doesn't get me out of the screen. I'm not sure what I end up with if i say replace or don't replace since I haven't changed anything. The crux of the matter is not understanding the initial print options.
