Excess RMD & tax

I had trouble with the terminology in the IRA and RMD area. Plus I didn't understand why I had a small refund last year but over a $2K payment this year. I believe the payment was because I apparently needed to update my withholdings for income tax even though my income only went up about $2300, my income tax apparently needed to go up by over $2100 also. Still doesn't seem right but I submitted anyway.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

Time to switch to turbo tax?

Been using this software since it came out. H & R’s failure to have enough bandwidth to support its existing customers for e-file this year is a big enough pain in the a&$ probably join the masses on Google and choose a different software next year.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I didn’t see any information on this. I don’t recall this question being asked in previous years. I wasn’t sure if they were asking about ALL payments or just this year. In the end I opted to just take the standard deduction even though I wasn’t sure if that was the best option.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

Stressful electronic submission. News reports say that H&R Block website is to blame. TurboTax next year!

A decade using this product but 2024 was the worst

I used to do taxes for a living and can tell you this year's product is a confusing mess with vague and contradictory interview questions.
Worst, the HR Block server was down when I tried to file and it ended up sending (and paying) my taxes three times.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am not happy with this software as I am unable to complete transmission of my return. Tried on different devices and same result. I did get confirmation email that the return was accepted, but still can’t complete process on the application.
Pros: Easy to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used other software, but H&R Block is the easiest to use. The ability to take a pic of your w2 and have the system input all the data is a great time saver.
Some instruction could be more detailed, though it is only with the most unusual inputs.
