I’ve been using H&R Block software for my tax preparation for about five years. It is good, but it could be better. For example, when asked about interest and dividends you can download the information from your financial institution. After you have input all your information throughout, you are then asked to go back and verify the information downloaded from the institution. How do I verify whether or not the amount is correct when all of the trade transactions have been completed by a computer? I have no idea if the transaction is correct or not. It’s very frustrating and confusing. And you have to do it for EVERY TRANSACTION. I’m 68 and have a PhD and I stumble around using the software. I feel sorry for folks who have trouble with English.

Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

I used the software and submitted it I received a confirmation email yet it still will not let me check my status because it does not think I submitted my taxes.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

Software disappeared, doesn't import from eTrade

Bought and used the 2023 Basic software for two relatives' returns, now my tax files won't open; good thing I saved one return as a pdf. Where did my T23 software disappear to, and why? Also, software does not import tax docs from e*Trade or Chas Schwab accounts.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
