The Basic version is easy to use and comprehensive enough for my use, even though I have K-1s, capital gains and business income. It is very inexpensive, and the 5 free federal filings is great! I share it with my kids.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

As an experienced user, I like the program and can quickly complete my return each year. But after recommending the program to a friend, I saw him struggle to use the program for the first time. Some navigation is not intuitive.

HR Block's tax soft\ware works well for someone familiar with tax law. If someone is not familiar and needs help, I would NOT recommend. Then why do I use it? Because I am familiar with tax law and I want a software to add in the mechanical process of completing and submitting the forms.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
