Overall, it's a good and easy to use program. What I don't understand is why you can't correct your system to accept the 6 digit PIN. Your system only has a place for 5, and one has to search for the location to place it. But, I didn't see a place for the state return ro place 6 digits.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

The overall functionality of your tax computer software is not great for two reasons:
1) There is significant room for improvement in tax form instructions.
2) I used the software for estimating my 2024 taxes before the end of 2024. So when I used the same digital file for my return there were issues in figuring the correct taxable income for a 1099-R that contained the sum of my RMD and a conversion from a traditional IRA to a Roth IRA. To correct the issues I had to begin a fresh digital return. It appears that reworking the original return left some values corrupted making the revised return unusable because the taxable income remained incorrect.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents

Have used HR Block for years now. Easy, one step, to pull in last year's info and fill in offline. If ever audited they'll stand up for you. I feel more secure in efiling thru their system than trying to fill in forms online the whole session at irs site. Just wish HRB had one version simpler than "basic". We're a middle class retired couple with only 4 sources of income that includes savings acct interest, 2 soc security checks and one retirement check- all 1099 stuff. No dependents. Tithes and basic medicare deductible never better than taking std deduction. Betting this is situation w most retirees. Getting bogged down in answering what-if scenarios is cumbersome, software needs a SHORTCUT option to just update from last year if only income COLA changes and send it on.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
