I was a little disappointed with HRB policy change. When I have tax related questions, there's no support available. This seems to have changed in a last few years. I don't like that change. The software works fine. But when you stumble upon a question and can't complete your return, that's when you need some tax preparar to talk to.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I’m less a fan of the product this year as I elected to prepare 2 schedule c”s only to discover your system won’t recognize more than one when use of worksheets (a favorite feature) requires amending previous entries. I’ll probably jump to turbo tax this coming year for that reason alone.

Fonts too small to read

The problem I have with this program is that the boxes which you enter information is very small to me, even with readers on. I wish that the boxes and fonts were larger. Otherwise, it's easy to use and cheaper than TurboTax.

User interface is crude, opaque, awkward, clumsy, unhelpful and I don't trust it. It never adapted to the windows world, and I have to print the final forms and reconcile them to input manually.
Needed:
1: data entry and review in user-selected order. Currently, associated items are scattered around the program and it's easy to forget what has been entered and what hasn't.
2: drill-down on all items to see what made them up.
3: context-sensitive help that actually works.
4: in particular, what income is taxable, how and at what rate.

Worked hard to meet the 15 October filing deadline and program would not allow me to efile. Some nonsense about AGI not matching previous year! It was matched...?!?! Went to the trouble of printing and mailing UPS 2ed Day Air. By the way, you do NOT show the physical mailing address required; I had to search and guess. UPS does not deliver to POBox.

Cons: Time consuming

Impossible to efile

I cannot efile my return. The program says my AIG doesn't match my previous year's AIG event though I have the years return right in front of me. I reached out to the help center they told me to put 0 for my AIG. That also got rejected. I reached back out to the help center they told me to go to the IRS website and get an IP PIN. I did that and the program doesn't recognize the IP PIN as being the one the IRS has on file. The only other thing I've been told to do by the help center is to mail in the return.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
