This set is a mess

Let me first start off by saying I have had many many many Lego sets throughout my life. I still have the ones I had as a kid.
I’ve never had a set that was missing a piece or had incorrect documentation.
This set is the outlier.
The manual sent has a QR code to scan. The QR code registers a different incorrect set for the ”millennium falcon” and this results in me not able to register this set or look at the LEGO builder app manual.
Next this set has missing pieces, but the missing pieces are then replaced with entirely different pieces that don’t fit. I have pieces in bag 1 that are completely random.
I skipped ahead a few pages and it looks like the missing pieces are necessary to complete the front….
I contacted support. Hoping I hear back from them. I had to stop at bag 2 since I couldn’t progress any further.
I wouldn’t recommend this set unfortunately. Looks cool from the picture on the box though….

Not worth it.

This is the cheapest entry to get a new "Smart Brick," and it sure does disappoint. The price is steep for a bad and ugly build and a new piece of Tech that, while sounding fun, is executed so poorly that it left a 6-year-old kid and me wondering what LEGO was thinking when they made it. It makes sounds, but nothing from the actual Star Wars films, which they have the license to use. The minifigures all make a goofy "arrooreerooo" sound at different pitches. But the fact that nothing, and I mean, no sound actually sounds like an actual sound from the films it disappointing. LEGO should have dropped with this with CITY or something that doesn't have a distinct set of sounds or dialogue. I cannot recommend this for kids or adults. A 6-year-old lost interest in the brick's limited capabilities within a few minutes. The product is a dud, a fun concept, but as I said, the execution is awful, and thus, the product is not worth the money.

New Tech needs work

The great thing about microcontrollers, is that the firmware can be updated for new features and update existing features. I can't wait for the Tie Fighter update, it really needs one. Why? The Tie Fighter sounds nothing like a Tie Fighter. With other kits, you get recognizable light saber sounds. warp drive sounds and even the cantina song, but with the Tie Fighter, you get a generic "whoosh" sound, not the iconic roar/scream from the movie franchise.
For the price, I expected a few more smart play features. This is a really expensive "starter smart brick kit" that truely needs the X-Wing kit to unlock all of the features. In my opinion, the Throne room set has limited "replay" potential and should have been cheaper, "compatible" kit without smart bricks. The X-Wing and Tie Fighter should have been bundled together to have the dual smart brick combo starter/intro kit that the Throne room tries to be. The extra cost would have been worth it.
For now, it's a bit disappointing. Maybe future kits will add a new tag for the rebel or fuel station and improve the lack luster sound effects with a firmware update. I have hope that the smart brick system will evolve and mature with time.

So for transperency sake, I am an adult, and I purchased this set for myself mostly out of curiosity for the smart brick system. This was by far and away the most disappointing lego set ive ever purchased, never have I returned a lego product, this was taken apart and packed back in the box instantly after putting it all together. The sound effects were deplorable, im honestly shocked this passed lego q & a. I was expecting authentic tie fighter sounds and Vader's actual voice, it was gibberish, truly awful. Considering the lego Soundwave set has licensed sounds and music, clearly lego is capable. On top of the garbage smart system, this is a very very basic set, which I get, its for kids, but still, not worth the price for what you get. The only redeemable qualities were the mini figs, thats it. I can't even say that this would be a good purchase for a child, considering the price and they'd probably be familiar with the original films and would expect licensed sounds and vocals. Huuuge blunder by lego.

The fact that you have to purchase a smart brick to use their other sets.It blows my mind because they don't sell the smart bricks on their own.You have to purchase a set that has it in order to use a set that does not have it.That is just plain old greed. If you ask me, because there is no exception as to why it's not available. And this project is not going to live and we'll die because they chose to choke it

I collect all things LEGO Darth Vader. I have every set ever made with a Vader in it, so naturally I had to purchase this one also. While some elements of the build were interesting, mostly some unique design techniques or the quality of the new windshield piece, I could not be more disappointed with this product. I write this fully acknowledging that the product was designed for kids. I'm not sure there's been a worse value for the money set marketed by LEGO. The build is smaller than one would expect and, for the brick functionality, doesn't even feel completed. The "best" feature is the ability to create shooting sounds while playing. Despite playing with it for several minutes, I could not get it to play the "Imperial March" sound except for once and even then, it only plays the first stanza, so that is incomplete also. Vader is VERY hard to put in and take out of his seat. The side builds are pretty MEH. Obviously, I get these sets were designed for (and it seems by) kids, but my kids mostly just laugh at the fake sounds.

DON’T BUY. SAVE YOUR MONEY

I had gift cards and I saw this set. Had NO idea what “smart play” meant but turns out it is a brick that lights up and gives you sound effects. Not official sound effects either. And it is only for playability so the set, the ship, is not complete. It has an open back to take the light up brick in n out easily.
I wish I had never got it. It was an awful build. Left me with too many separate parts, not good for displaying, and I couldn’t return it because I’d used gift cards to purchase this. AND, couldn’t collect points for building it because the QR Code was for a different set!!!!
Waste. I will box it back up. Don’t want it on my shelves.

This set is terriblely priced. So disappointed with smart brick. Although this is made for kids and I am not a kid, I think regardless the price is still awful. I would not buy this for a kid nor recommend that a kid buy one themselves(if they could even afford it) Very disspointed in lego!
