Guys, I really miss the concept of friends in Garmin Bounce 2. I guess 9 yo kids may have some still. They may want to talk to each other to plan outside activities
I don’t understand how a kids watch does not have access to the store for watch faces. Especially the new Pokémon sleep ones. Do you guys not have parents working on the bounce line? Also, ~24 hours lifetime on a kids watch is too short. It should be minimum 48 in case your child forgets to charge it one night.
We love this watch. The two way messaging, location tracking, and exercise tracking are everything we need, and make for a great alternative to a smartphone. The V2 model has significantly improved battery life over the first version, which is a big help for us.
We upgraded from the Bounce to the Bounce 2, and I’d say this is definitely the best watch I’ve bought for my son. One of the best features is that it has calling directly from the watch itself, which makes it really convenient. We already had the previous subscription, so transferring it over was quick and easy. Overall, it was a great upgrade and one of the best decisions we’ve made.
We purchased the bounce 2 for my daughter who is nine so that she can stay connected even when her busy schedule takes her away from the home. So far we are enjoying the features it did take a few minutes to get it kind of connected but the support team at Garmin was wonderful and within just a few minutes he was able to figure out why it wasn't connecting. We also purchased the LTE service, so far that works pretty well around where we live, but she did go to grandma's house which is a little bit further away from cities and towns and it was a little bit spotty service but still it worked as expected. We are enjoying the features it is a lightweight watch which allows her to wear it all day pretty comfortably. She wears it to forest school to various camps, It allows her to stay connected even when she's not with family So far we are enjoying the features and find the watch to be a great way to allow her to be connected to family without a phone.
First, the app is terrible and not user friendly - using the text app would be a significant step up. Second, the watch could learn something from Apple - it’s not user friendly or simple to use. Last, I would expect Garmin location to be accurate but it’s about three houses off most of the time.
A few kinks with calling but was easy to set up and link to app. Finding my kids is easy but can’t hear anything on phone in neighborhood but can in public places. Much nicer than Bounce 1 and kids love it. Not phone ready but tweens who want some space but not too much.
