I was a little unsure about purchasing such an expensive toothbrush... but I am so happy I did. It is such a great product, and has really improved my brushing in every way. I love using it with my phone app... it really guides me and shows me if i am doing a good job and getting a complete clean mouth.. it also makes brushing a lot more fun, and its a great looking toothbrush as well.... best purchase i have made in a long time... I highly recommend this brush to everyone!

Superb design and function, the mobile app it great.
Pros: lightweight, effective cleaner, design, ease of use
Cons: price, didn't come with the chargable carry pouch.
light weight with good balance love the pressure sensor since I have a tendency to press/brush too hard had some plaque buildup along the gum line and it is gone after 2-3 uses and my gums love it has a pause every 30 seconds that takes some getting used to because it is a powerful brush you'll need a newer phone to use the app

A state of the art toothbrush!

The Philips sonicare DiamondClean was recommended to me by my dentist who is a technology freak. I was hesitant a bit but now I own one. Now I see why it was recommended. I will start with the amazing packaging that is designed with a lot of care to details. This think is a delight to look at! I was so impatient to look at the toothbrush itself! Now this toothbrush is state of the art machine with so much technologies attached to it that is really mind boggling. I was so impressed by being able to charge the toothbrush via USB cable, the instant feedback on coverage, pressure and scrubbing, highlight trouble area on your personalized mouth map , and the brush head monitor to name a few of the functionality of this amazing machine (through App interaction). The simplicity of using this “fine machine”is a no brainer, since it has a brain of its own and alerts you to areas that need attention, less pressure, etc. The result is amazing teeth/gum that are on their way to become cleaner/healthier and probably by my next appointment, the hygienist will be surprised by the improvement of my hygiene since for the past God knows how many years, she’s been telling me that I am not brushing/ flossing good and never happy with the way I am caring for my teeth! NOT ANYMORE! I have used other electric toothbrushes throughout the years, but this one by far outperformed all of them. In no time, I start seeing improvement of my teeth/gum whereas with the other toothbrushes I can remember questioning myself is the cost/benefit ratio worth it? With this Philips sonicare DiamondCleanSmart, I sure won’t be worried about C/B ratio because it will pay for itself in no time. In other words it’s a good investment. Now the things that needed some improvement in my opinion are the glass charger and the App. Overall, this toothbrush made me realize that the Philips brand name has risen up to higher standards of innovative technologies that is well thought out.
Pros: the best technology for oral health care., this toothbrush is like no other in the market
Cons: price may deter some people who never tried it!

Terrific electric toothbrush

I wasn't sure what to expect when I was offered a free product to review - it wasn't something I'd done before, and I suppose I was expecting something of little interest to me. But I've been using a fairly basic model of Philips Sonicare for years, so when I got this new DiamondClean Smart toothbrush I was pretty interested. I was also a bit sceptical of the "smart" aspect. In general, I have reservations about the rush to app-enable and internet connect every aspect of our lives. It often seems like a fad that offers little if anything in the way or real improvement, and just makes things a bit more complicated. And I have privacy concerns. The app aspect of the DiamondClean, however, did seem to me to bring something legitimate to the table. It helped guide my brushing, and gave me reminders about things like flossing. The area prompts were quite useful. And even when I used the DiamondClean toothbrush without the app in front of me, it still provided feedback on when I was brushing too hard, through the light on the base of the toothbrush. This I found to be a really superb and valuable feature as using too much pressure has always been an issue for me. In many other ways, the DiamondClean was a significant step up from the older, more basic model of Sonicare I'd been using. The fitting of the brush head to the base seemed more seamless - and buildup of gunk inside the brush head has been an issue for me with the older model. The motor/movement seemed more powerful, though that might have simply been due to the age of my older unit. The weight seemed less, which is not insignificant. And overall, it just seemed like a very solid, well-made item - as well as being very elegant. I'm very happy with the DiamondClean - it seems like a superb electric toothbrush, whether or not you take advantage of the "smart" features.
The tool works great. I can tell the difference from my old rotary brush. The Bluetooth feature has been of marginal benefit to me. Perhaps consider the same brush without Bluetooth.
