I am a dental hygienist and normally recommend sonicare over any brand, but this toothbrush is not it. I recently upgraded to this one since mine broke and I have been very disappointed. The brush does every week and my old one would hold a charge for a long time and the brush itself is very messy and always all over my face. My old sonicare I had no issues with and I love it. The only good thing about this brush is the sensitivity monitor and timer but I will be purchasing my old sonicare as it’s way bette at holding a charge for at least 2 weeks and doesn’t splatter or drip near as bad.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cleansing is good battery life is not no travel charger

I like the way it cleans but I could have gotten a less expensive model that did that as well as this one.
The battery lasts maybe a week before it needs to be charged. The charging case they sell does not work for this model and there are no convenient reasonably priced travel chargers for it.
I would not buy it again or recommend it to others.
Pros: cleans well
Cons: expensive, no travel charger, poor battery life

Very easy to break down. Older models are much more durable

I have owned 2 diamond clean. The older version is much more durable than this one. I am still using the old one, but this one is not functioning well now.

I've been pleased with the toothbrush and its many features. However, I am confused about when to replace the brush head. The very brief brochure describing the features only mentions that an icon will appear when it's time to replace the brush head. There's no mention of what the icon looks like. My brush head is getting worn but I haven't seen any icon other than the "Clean" light flashes when I finish brushing, but I don't know if that's the one telling me to change the brush head. Also the battery light goes on and off when it's time to charge, but again that isn't mentioned in the brochure, so I just figured it out intuitively.
Pros: good performance
Cons: insufficient documentation

Easy to use, teaches you to brush more effectively

This is my review of the Philips DiamondClean Smart HX9903/11. I received a promotional sample in exchange for an honest review. This is a very nice toothbrush and is very high tech though the brushing process doesn`t have to be complicated. Turn on the power and brush until the handle automatically turns off. On the other hand, you can choose a specific brushing program (whitening, plaque removal, etc.) by installing the appropriate brush head, watch your brushing progress on the smartphone app in real time, and track your ongoing progress in the app if you like.
Included are three different brush heads (each for a different purpose), a travel case, a rinsing glass, and a charger. The glass sits on top of the charger, and the brush handle sits base down for in the glass for charging. The brush handle is easy to hold and feels solid in my hand. After reading the easy to understand manual I installed the smartphone app and put the whitening head on the handle. The heads communicate with the handle so that the settings appropriate to the head are automatically set on the handle, and they are easy to snap onto and remove from the handle. Start the app before you grab the toothbrush and the app shows you where to brush and for how long, and indicates when you are brushing too hard. The brush handle also shows when you brush too hard by flashing an light and vibrating in a special way in case you are not using the smartphone app. The app tracks brushing habits and has a progress indicator to show how far you are in the goal you set. The app also points out areas where you didn`t brush enough and gives you a chance to go over those areas again at the end of the brushing cycle. It`s very easy to learn to brush better by using the app.
As a long time Sonicare owner, this toothbrush is better than my old one in cleaning and additional functionality. It is very easy to use, cleans my teeth very well, and is a great tool for improving brushing habits. After brushing my teeth they feel almost like I`ve just come from the dentist. My only complaint is the `loose plastic` buzzing sound that occurs sometimes as I am brushing, which is minor. I will definitely recommend this model to my friends and family.

We have two of them and both had the same issue the connection at the tooth brush stop vibrating. When it was working it was great.

I have been using diamond clean for years and I credit my excellent oral care to it. I really don't use the coaching because I don't need to but what a great idea for those who do. This pink one matches my bathroom and makes me happy. My teeth just sparkle and contain zero plaque. Thank you Phillips for taking such good care of my teeth. This is the wisest investment one can make to ones general appearance and well being. Years ago I had dental assistants match crowns to the color of my teeth. I wish I would have requested whiter crowns. There is no better proof than that, PHILLIPS rocks.
