While I’m very satisfied when it’s working rarely does sonic care toothbrush last a year 3 -9 months is average life span out of 11 toothbrush units I have purchased First one lasted 2 years + then next one lasted couple months Went with cheaper models and they were even worse Gets loud and brush head axle gets real loose and it is then useless Since ridiculous fancy features started quality completely gone Going to try other brands

Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that you have experienced issues with your Sonicare toothbrushes and that they have not lasted as long as you had hoped. At Philips, we strive to provide our customers with high-quality products that are both durable and reliable. We would like to inform you that Sonicare toothbrushes use powerful vibrations to clean your teeth. The sound produced is louder than a manual toothbrush. If this is your first electric toothbrush, it can take a while to get used to electric brushing. If you turn on your toothbrush without a brush head, it will make more noise. Always ensure that a brush head is attached to your toothbrush. If your toothbrush makes an abnormally loud noise, a loose brush head may be the reason. Ensure the brush head is firmly placed on the handle and not loose. A small gap will remain between the handle and brush head as needed for vibration. It could also mean that your brush head is worn. We recommend replacing your brush head every three months. You can purchase a new brush head in our online store.
If you have any additional questions, please get in touch via Social Media. We're available on Facebook (@Philips) and Twitter (@PhilipsCare). Don't worry, if you don't use Social Media, you can also reach out to us via the contact page: www.Philips.com/contact.
Hope to speak to you soon!
Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

Useless app. Bristles fell off the brush head after less than a month.

The quality of this toothbrush makes me wonder why I spent hundreds of dollars for such a horrible product. The app is a complete waste of time and energy. The bluetooth connection doesn't work, the app doesn't register all the movements while I brush. The app needs a complete redesign and all the bugs need to be fixed. The brush heads are getting more expensive but they're worse than a $1 manual toothbrush. Chunks of bristles fell off after less than a month of daily use.

The essential benefit of the tooth brush is using the application and the iOS application constantly crashes or failes to establish a BT connection

Very frustrating and unfortunate to spend 100's of dollars on a tooth brush where the iOS application crashes frequently and/or frequently won't connect to the toothbrush from the iOS application. iOS developer get crash reports of applications and it seems that Phillips doesn't look at these to discover why the application crashes in the middle of a brushing.
I like the DiamondClean Smart electric toothbrush. My teeth feel so much cleaner than any other tooth brush I've ever used. I also like the program from Phillips that I downloaded to my smart phone. The only thing I'm very dissatisfied with is the special toothbrushes that came with the toothbrush. 2 of the 3 brushes didn't' last 2 weeks. Several of the individual bristles actually came unglued and fell out in my mouth while brushing (according to the results of my brushing per the downloaded Phillips sonicate program, I'm brushing correctly). I ended up throwing the 2 brushes away due to several other bristles were loose and ready to fall out. I'm using the 3rd brush now and it seems to be holding after a week.
Cons: inferior toothbrushes that came with toothbrush.
The product is easy to use. It performs well, just like all of your other Toothbrushes. For me, just give me, a regular electric toothbrush. I don’t need all the Bells, and Whistles. (Aka The Bluetooth Technology) Keep it Simple. Concentrate on Longevity of product. Which has been Lacking, at Least with The DiamondClean Series. Most Customers, Like myself; are Looking for a Rock Solid, Product. And Not Impressed, with unnecessary, worthless, added Features. To be honest, I am using This New DiamondClean Toothbrush, like an Old Model DiamondClean. In The Manual setting. I have extra Brush Heads, that I either purchased, or received at Christmas. That were for The Last Model Series. After that If the Old Brush Heads, become unavailable, I will be doing research on Purchasing a New Toothbrush; On All different, Manufacturers; and models.
Pros: runs like previous models
Cons: worthless bluetooth features, old brush heads run on manual mode
I've used Sonicare toothbrushes for many years and I must admit, I like my newest one the best of all: Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart Sonic electric toothbrush with app HX9903/21.
This toothbrush is so thorough at cleaning and whitening that I don't need any other products to keep my teeth clean and bright.
It's a high quality toothbrush -- well made and easy to keep clean. The brushes themselves are larger than the ones I used to use, and they not only clean my teeth but feel good on the gums.
I am very happy to have invested in a high quality toothbrush such as this one.
Pros: cleans thoroughly, keeps teeth white and bright

Started to break off after 8 months
on October 17, 2019

The sensing and vibrating ceased to work as it should have after use of 8 months. Now I have to hold on to the front of the brush head to get the vibration. Changing new brush heads didn't help either. Very bad quality Philips!

I’ve had Sonicare brushes since they were released into the Wild. This latest release touts Bluetooth connectivity, pressure sensors and lights, and an app. Does that make it better or more effective than the model it supersedes? Nope. Not at all. In fact, I prefer the last model to this one. The app is cumbersome and useless. The pressure sensor is...useless. The new case is nice...but longer and doesn’t fit as well in my toiletries case. The finish is super prone to water and toothpaste staining. I just don’t really get the point of any of it. Don’t waste your money. There is really no reasonable reason to upgrade.
Pros: more lights, new brushes are ok
Cons: no value to new features, app is a joke, expensive, new finish get dirty fast, case still big no uv clean or charge
