I got this as a mug for cold brews that make at home. It’s just the right size to hold the coffee and ice cubes. Then I noticed my Fellow Stag X and thought I could use it as a carafe as I’m brewing hot coffees. The wide mouth fits the Stag X perfectly and does not,as I initially feared, stall out he draw down on the pour over due to a too perfect seal. Draw down was fine and I found myself getting impatient because the coffee wasn’t cooling down lol. This mug really does a great job of keeping your drinks hot! It’s a very minimalistic design which I absolutely love and the materials looks to last a lifetime if not longer. I really enjoy the Carter Wide mouth mug. It’s the perfect size for my needs!

Retains the Temperature Perfectly

Having recently bought the gooseneck kettle for our pour over coffee, I was excited to give the Carter mug to my husband! It didn’t disappoint. It’s the perfect size and keeps his morning coffee hot for a very long time. He’s planning to take it on his winter mountain camping trip and I’m excited to hear how it holds up in the frigid temps. The only 2 things that would make it better would be if it were dishwasher safe and if there were a lid that didn’t have to be removed when drinking and still prevented spills. However, it’s pretty fantastic overall.

Great Insulation

The Carter Wide Mug is nice looking and keeps my coffee hot for a long time (at least 4 hours before I finished my drink). The only negatives are due to its size and shape. It does not fit in a car cup holder, I can’t bring it along when I’m driving. Even if I’m the passenger, I have to hold it the whole time. Also, the width of the mug is a little uncomfortable to hold for smaller hands.

Perfect gift not meant to be shared

This mug was a gift to my daughter. She and her husband were sharing cup-holder friendly Fellow mug and my daughter never got to use it much. So, I purchased her fav color in this wide version that’s cup-holder unfriendly which is perfect for her home office. She says she loves it. Even got it monogrammed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
