Love the mug, the only thing I’m unsure about it my lid doesn’t screw down completely flush on one side. There are no leaks but aesthetically it would be nice it there was no gap.
Fantastic mug, perfect size for a cup. Keeps things nice and warm, looks good, easy to drink from, cleans up easy. The lid secures perfect without any leaking. Aeropress fits like a glove! It is wide and does not fit most vehicle cupholders, I knew this going in, no problem. For me, aeropress compatibility was more important. My truck has a pair of extra-wide cup holders that work for me. Otherwise, there are cupholder expanders that could help. My biggest complain is there is no sip lids for the wide travel mug. Why can't a person want a travel mug that fits the Aeropress AND can be used to drink from on the go? Nope, apparently, I would only want a mug that I use to drink from on the move but cannot fit the ultimate travel brewer, or a mug that I can brew into while on the road, but can't drink from. This should be called a transportation mug, not a travel mug. You can only transport your coffee from point A to point B, you cannot use it while travelling.
While it is too wide for a good grip with my arthritis it is perfect for use with my AeroPress. It keeps everything hotter while brewing using the Prismo attachment. Exactly what I wanted.
I love my Carter mugs. I have 3 of the thinner ones and wanted to try the wide mug. What I love about the wide mouth is it's feel in my hand. It also has the sensation of drinking out of a tradition mug rather than a travel mug. What it's missing is the splash guard. The splash guard not only keeps the Carter mug from splashing, but it keeps my coffee a little hotter a little longer. Without the top on, the wide mug cools down pretty fast. But that's not stopping me for reaching for it. I love it.
A travel tumbler worthy of its design, however, from day 1 I felt a slight affectation in the taste of the coffee. The senses of smell and touch have not been ignored per se, but I think taste has.
