TurboTax is Bulletproof

I've been using TurboTax for about 30 years filing personal, LLC, Partnership, S-Corp, and C-Corp returns and it hasn't failed me yet. And I'm a retired businessman, not a CPA.

Turbo Tax gets worse every year.

Investments and capital gains entry is terrible. My capital gains went in twice and it was very hard to correct it. Trying to bring up my pervious years tax return took me several tries.

One issue with Schedule C, but got it worked out

I used TurboTax Home and Business for 2024. Howqever, an error crept into the program that I could not figure out after a couple of hours of research. I then contacted TurboTax and the live advisor was clear, patient and helpful. We tried different approaches for at least an hour, if not longer. In the end, I could not file my taxes without deleting all my Schedule C entries and starting over with the Schedule C information. I printed out what I had already entered, as reference, and the agent talked me through deleting the original Schedule C. It worked, after I re-entered the info. It did not carry over the previous year's Schedule C information. I was happy just to have gotten through the process and gotten my taxes filed for the year! I generally like and appreciate TurbotTax. Having a live phone person really makes all the difference when you're stuck with a problem. If there is still live help available, I'l be back next year. Oh, andother advantage is the Audit Defense option. I like that TT shows a bar indicating the likelyhood of your being audited, based on some of your filing criteria. At least with the extra Audit Defense support, I'm less worried what the IRS thinks. My numbers are actual and supported!

The product is very good; I have been using it for over 25 years. I would have given them 5 stars but I found a bug in their product. It was the first time I have ever found a bug. It was very difficult to figure out how to contact Intuit's Turbotax customer support to report the bug. Once I was able to figure out how to contact them then Intuit was very responsive to address the bug.
