We've used TurboTax for Decades

In general excellent. I would prefer the charities were presented in alphabetical order or if I could sort them that way.
On the accuracy topic, I wonder every time I use TurboTax after April 15 and the product is updated, what the changes are and if it would have affected me had I filed on April 15.
On the Features topic, I was unable to file an extension using the Desktop product. That is unacceptable.

Minor glitches in more sophisticated forms relating to investment income/deductions reporting but, overall, it makes an otherwise overwhelming task reasonably manageable.

Have relied on Turbo Tax for over 20 years!!!

I've prepared my own taxes for over 30 years. I started with paper forms and instruction that were a nightmare. for almost 20 years I've relied upon Turbo Tax to quickly and accurately help me prepare and file my federal and state returns. Each year it gets easier, as Turbo Tax prefills information from my last year's return and adds new features. I have a relatively complex tax situation, but even so I can complete and file my taxes in a matter of hours, with the confidence that it was done correctly.

Turbotax is useful, but...

Math seems accurate. No problem with reporting. Should be quite compatible with simple returns, or those with rental property or stocks. Is not overly helpful for small farms. Not overly compatible with the reality of husband/wife QBV in a user friendly fashion. Please add additional features/guidance on completion of Schedule F for small farmers, especially dealing with QBVs. Some of the instructions in place still reference "rental property" when accessed from Schedule F. (Programming oversight?? ) Interface requires significant duplication of effort in completing Schedule F and supporting information. No guidance is given for how to deal with a 1099-G government payment issued to primary taxpayer for a QJV, even though the government policy is to issue only one, Users are left to guess.

must answer same questions over and over and over
on October 15, 2025

There are about 10 questions that must be answered before you get to filling out expenses for Sch C and another 5-10 before you can fill out office in home, and probaby another 5-10 before you can fill out auto exp. These questions are the same every time. Once you have answered them it would so much easier if you could select to skip those questions and get right in inputting your numbers.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Software glitches prevent e filing
on October 15, 2025

No problems except that there is no way to bypass the things that the final check thinks are 'errors' in order to efile. Was very frustrated to have to print and mail my return instead of efiling for two nonsense 'errors'. One was demanding an explanation be entered for a business credit which still flagged as an error even after the description was filled in. The other was that the spouse contributions to the SIMPLE IRA exceeded the taxpayer. Well, the SIMPLE IRA belongs to the spouse and is funded by his employer - so how can that be an 'error'? Am I supposed to lie and tell the IRS that we didn't make those contributions? If there were simply a 'this information is correct, ignore this 'error'' option (which I feel like there was in previous years) that would settle the issue and still allow for e filng. As is your software glitch blocked my ability to efile. Thus the poor review. Also, when we tried to file back in April there was no way to enter a form 172 loss carryforward at that point. It appears that was corrected in one of the updates since but that required us to file an extension until you could fix your software to be able to handle our situation.
