Confusing and Often Misleading User Interface

Being a former tax pro, I found many of the entry screens to be confusing and/or misleading. The overall approach of the customer interface (of the desktop product, at least) is really dumbed down and often lacks adequate information/guidance to properly answer questions. If one is not a tax pro -- and in some cases even if you are -- some prompts lead to wrong answers/entries which then leads to problems completing the return, or worse, leads to filing an inaccurate return. And I find many of the pop-up help screens to be pretty useless, lacking adequate information to properly guide the preparer. If it were not for the 'Forms' view, I would have no confidence in the accuracy of my return.

Turbo Tax is OK

I have used Turbo Tax for years, always the Disc Version which I find much better than on line, This year 2024 you did away with the Disk much to my disappointment the thing I missed most was the ability to upload my information from the prior year return. If that feature is still available on the On line version I certainly could not find it.

These forms are so difficult!

I was doing great until, somehow, this 77-year-old managed to get tagged for an early distribution (!!!) and a tax payment, rather than a refund. I couldn’t figure out how to find the page where it did that easily, but my phone helper was… this took almost THREE hours and I’m whipped!

Not able to save to PDF or Print

Finished the electronic returns on both Federal and State. Trying to save a pdf copy for record, BUT I was not able to save to PDF!!!! And not able to print the return either!!!

I would like to see the Turbotax name at the top left of the screen include the year, e.g."Turbotax 2024." This would be helpful in scrolling from year to year. I expect many of your customers do this.

UI could be better.

Forms need a "zoom" feature to make them larger.
Iy would be helpful to have all the errors listed in one place so they can be fixed all at once. As it is, you have to go back and forth repeatedly.
