EASY TO USE & GREAT TECHNICAL & TAX SUPPORT

I purchased TURBOTAX Home & Business which came with telephone technical support and some tax questiion support. I was very pleased with the support as I neede to call them about where to enter certain business expenses since I'm self-employed. I have a complicated return and TURBOTAX made it very easy. If you have a simple return even better. It will save you a lot of money!

I had an issue with my federal & state return. My husband and I was filing the return jointly but it showed my name on the worksheet where my husband's name should have been. Thank God for Sheila who helped me figure out how to fix the issue. Thank you Sheila for all your time & support in getting my issue taken care of.

Shouldn't TurboTax get better over time?

Over the years the software retained familiar interface, and it helps to navigate the returns.
However, there are nuances of the software I dislike:
1. In my experience the software misses some of the fine nuances of tax code. For example, if my income is small and standard deduction makes my taxable income 0, TurboTax tells me that I can't contribute to Roth. I believe this is incorrect because MAGI isn't equal taxable income. Another example during COVID you had to look for tax from lines where to enter specific credits, the software didn't provide guidance, not even like a page "here is where you enter this data", I had to scout support forums to find the lines.
2. Why does the software keeps reminding me over and over again to purchase additional tax services? I already said "No".
3. Why does the software keep reminding me to complete state return? We don't have state taxes. This is confusing and haven't been like this in prior years.
4. Prior registration periodically fails and requires me to reregister the software, incrementing the count usage by 1. Not a huge problem, yet to reach 5 available registration slots, but still annoying.
5. Why did you discontinue physical installation media?

Turbo Tax is not as good as it used to be

i had a lot of problems with adding form 2555 for foreign earned income. I also had problems with depreciation. It duplicated my income. Secondly, when I first tried it, it included my depreciation. But when I redid it, the program failed to pull in my depreciation from former years. The guidance said that I should revisit my entries, that I must have said something but that failed to make a difference so I had to reenter all the depreciated items.
