TurboTax is my go-to tax software every year!

TurboTax has been my only go-to tax software every year for more than 30 years (with exceptions when my taxes were completed by human tax preparers... which did not result in greater credits or refunds even when I supplied them with all the information and documents TurboTax leads me through).
TurboTax is very intuitive and leads me through the available tax options and selections that I believe primarily apply to the tax situations for which I am filing. I feel that my taxes are very complete with me using TurboTax as my tax preparation and filing software of choice.
If you want to do your own taxes and have been daunted by the prospect of doing them yourself, then I highly recommend you using TurboTax to do them yourself. TurboTax takes the pressure off you having to be the tax expert as that expertise is integrated into the software's guidance simplicity. It's like following a GPS app turn-by-turn, except in TurboTax's case it's page by page. So, if you can follow GPS directions, then I believe you should be able to follow TurboTax's guidance directions and page options with success.

Good tool but getting paid advice is a nightmare

I was going to ask an expert but I could not find information about that service or how to use it - so I gave up and rang an accountant instead - great idea but very poorly executed.

Very repetitive -- questions asked over and over, still a bit too cutesy (though it's gotten better over the years). Constantly asking for money for upgrades and features.

Great Product! Scammy hidden fees

The product works incredibly well. It alone would be 5 stars. However, the constant attempts and overselling of add-ons, coupled with a hidden fee (quietly added without a checkbox) was beneath Intuit and hurts the credibility of the brand. Charge more overall if you want, bt stop the shadiness.

TurboTax: from starving student to professional

Have been using TurboTax the past two decades or longer. Other than upgrading versions to cover life events and professional development (e.g. home and business ownership), TurboTax has served me well from starving student to successful professional and business owner. Especially appreciate the ability to import data, saving valuable time, year over year.

It works but has serious flaws this year.

It worked this year, but it was very evident that the transition to a new platform has not gone well or smoothly. The program is trying to hard and needs to back off of making decisions for people. Example: I could not Efile until I downloaded the state even though I knew I did not have to file the state and it turns out TurboTax knew this too, but still required me to download it and go through the steps that said I did not qualify.
