why didn't software ask me about the inflation reduction act? I had to look it up and find the form number (5695) on my own. A major overlook in my opinion.........

Fine Product, but Opportunities to make it better

Opportunities to improve. There were several instances of information having to be entered multiple times, once for federal and again for state. At one point, IL state return easy step was telling me that I would have a penalty because I owed over $1,000 while box on screen and return showed I had a refund. It should be easier for user to determine how to enter bank account info on returns. Bank account info should populate from last year's return, with a re-entry to verify. TurboTax should ask some logical questions (e.g. I told you that I owned my home, but was not prompted to enter real estate tax payment). Federal review found errors related to empty crypto currency and foreign account fields, but didn't ask why I didn't enter real estate taxes that significantly impacted my state refund. I'm sure that crypto use is increasing, but I have to believe property taxes are more prevalent than crypto or foreign accounts. Why did state e-filing process ask questions about individual returns for my wife and I. I filed a joint return with Turbotax last year, the program should know that.

TurboTax will save you headaches

I've used this product for many years and overall it's been good. TurboTax has saved us many $$$ in overlooked deductions or overpayments. Their help is decent. However, there are areas that could be improved but have remained stagnant. For instance, charitable contributions imported from a previous year should be sorted alphabetically to ease data entry. Also, it would be nice to import some data from an Excel worksheet with copy-paste or even the reverse.

PIN issue

I was doing fine entering the information in this year's version of Turbo Tax but when I came to entering the 6-digits code we were sent by the IRS turbo tax only accepted 5 digits. Therefore, we had to send by mail. This issue should be addressed immediately, and we should receive some type of refund.
Pros: My employment status changed this year

No incremental saves - all data lost at review

After spending hours gathering and entering information, all information was lost at the review stage. No incremental saves apparently. Said there was an error. Popped up and error screen. Closed down. When re-opened, no data. Said it hadn't been used in days. Had to re-enter all information. And of course manually save through the process.
