Better Than the Competition

Better experience than with other competitors' product. Will be helpful if software included a separate worksheet to calculate self-employment taxes on clergy parsonage allowance. In the situation where the clergy does not receive a W-2 (or it is omitted from the W-2), including the parsonage allowance directly on the Schedule C form with other taxable business income complicates understanding how to report the allowance. I propose that there should be an initial checklist that includes a check box for clergy. Once taxpayer checks the box, it should trigger a questionnaire to fill out the parsonage allowance worksheet. The result can then flow to the appropriate places in the Schedule C and SE forms.

ERROR in State of Oklahoma Turbo Tax Program ?????

I am having trouble getting my 2nd state (Oklahoma Non Resident) return to understand that my stock transactions have nothing to do with the Oklahoma return (only the Royalties from Mineral Rights apply to Oklahoma) - keeps saying there are 112 errors, but they cannot be corrected because the only choices say I must give Fed ID # and declare that they were Oklahoma property. I have already paid for AUDIT DEFENSE, the 2nd state and for E-filing all three returns. SO I AM FILING IT ANYWAY !! There has to be some kind of error in the Oklahoma State Turbo Tax Program. It does not matter that today is the deadline - because I am receiving a refund from all three.

The bets version yet. very easy to use. I like how the interest and stock accounts were created. I was able to add interest paid easily.

Disappointed this year

The app used to be so much easier to use in the area of efiling and mailing the federal and the state. However it is now so directed to efiling both, and much time was wasted. I was forced to go online to find answers and getting to the right answer was very time consuming as well. Thanks to another user "CoachHoach," who battled with the exact same issue and after a few things he was directed to do, someone was finally able to give him the correct information. When you consider the hours lost just between the two of us and the cost of the app, it is simply not fair to the consumer.
My opinion is such that it's intentional to have the user give in to efiling the state return and it isn't right. All about money. Why change something that worked so well unless the goal is to frustrate the consumer into efiling the state simply to stop the madness.
I will try one more year (2026) with Turbo but if I have to end up wasting so much time trying to perform what for many years has been simple and useful again, it will be my last.

Like so many things today businesses are turning everything into a marketing strategy, with no regard for your customer. .
