Lower Quality Program for 2024

I have used TurboTax Home & Business on CD for many years. This year, I had to use the download desktop version because no more CDs, which began my dissatisfaction. Then, for the first time, I was very disappointed when using TurboTax. It seemed both incomplete and over-inclusive, and did not appear to carry over all information from previous years. Two examples: 1) It first ignored, then mishandled (per company information available online) a liquidation distribution. 2) It asked complicated and unnecessary questions--information that should have been carried over--about a pension that has been received for the last 10 years. In addition, it was very difficult to figure out how/where to "encourage" TurboTax to enter information in situations that have previously been easy. If I use TurboTax again next year, it will be because no one else produces a program that includes the somewhat unusual forms I need.

Turbotax sucks

Took 25 dollars from me to file electronically, electronic filing was rejected, have to print, out another 25 dollars.

1099-PATR needs a little work.

I have used TurboTax Home and Business for many years. The area around 1099s involving cooperative distributions needs a little work. I know that a minority of users will ever see this section but the instructions and forms needs to be clearer.

Excellent tax software and easy to use. Step by step guidance is very valuable. We have a small business and a second property which complicate our tax returns, but this package makes filing our returns much easier.
