Turbo Tax E-File IS NOT free If You Have A Refund

The say you can e-file your federal for 'free' but be aware that if you have a refund they charge a $40 fee to send the money to your bank account. They should be upfront about this and not leaving it to nearly the last screen to inform you. Will NEVER efile with Turbo Tax again. I'll just mail it and wait.

Excellent for small business!

I've been using TurboTax for 30 years now. It has been a painless journey from using it for easy personal taxes in the beginning to nearly 20 years now as a small business owner and investment property manager. For the small amount that is paid for tax preparation software it has provided an endless supply of education along and makes understanding continuously changing tax laws easy to implement and also the ability to forecast tax strategies for the following year. Friends question me all the time where I have time to learn all of this "tax stuff" and I tell them I've grown alongside the development of TurboTax's sophistication and information. If I was just a short form filer it probably isn't necessary. For small business it's allowed me to remain in control of my business data and understand the tax implications of what I am doing without the need for an account.

Generally speaking it's convenient and friendly to use. But you still have to be very careful not to miss any tax documents with you, for the software will not realize what you are missing.
