I've been using TurboTax for years and generally like it. However, I wish it provided more clarity around deductions. This year, I was particularly confused about the QBI deduction—applying it didn’t change my tax due, and I still don’t understand why

TurboTax makes taxes easier, but not perfect

I had bugs where I had imported CSV files and it told me to review it. No matter how many times I reviewed and entered data in every field, it never marked the item as not reviewed. Almost every year I encounter bugs, but I understand the code is really complicated.

Hard to Navigate and Extra Fees

It is hard and slow to navigate. I do what the instructions in help says and it never gets me to where I want to go. And every year I buy a package that says free state filing and yet TurboTax charges me. And because it is at the end of the tax preparation and I'm just tired of it, I pay. This year you charged me twice - once to download the state and once to file the state. I only use TurboTax because I've been lazy - Intuit bought the software company I used years ago and I have never wanted to take the time to re-enter everything into a new package. After being charge two fees for a state return and recently learning that one of the competitors has an import feature for TurboTax files, I don't intend to be back next year.

Almost Awesome

It is overall excellent to do your taxes, but I had to deduct a star because it has become more difficult to find a particular field that you may need to make an entry. Instead of it just telling you were to go or taking you there directly with the program, it gives you a convoluted answer of how to find it. The chat is great for complicated issues but not for simple things. For instance, just ask where to enter an IP PIN and you will see what I mean.
