I'VE BEEN USING TURBOTAX FOR AT LEAST 20 YEARS NOW. THE SOFTWARE AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS TOP NOTCH. HARD TO IMAGINE HOW DEEP IT CAN GET INTO EVEN THE MOST COMPLICATED BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS. PHONE SUPPORT ON A TRICKY QUESTION WAS TAKEN CARE OF QUICKLY.

It gets worse every year....
on April 10, 2025

Where do I start? The product has continually gotten worse over the years....
Bugs in proper support of Schedule K-1. If you select too many checkboxes, you can't go back and deselect the extra checkboxes. You have to delete the entire K-1 and start over with that K-1.
Not much guidance in regards to the Schedule K-1. Asks me questions that I have no idea what they mean.
No support for Statement C in regards to Schedule K-1.
No support for a Substitute K-1. Lots of guess work on that. Kinda have to reverse engineer the flow of the software to match up with the Substitute K-1.
The software doesn't give much help in regards to "At Risk" scenarios in regards to the K-1 questions. I had to use ChatGPT to finally understand how At Risk applied to the tax situation.
I went to file my taxes electronically, I get all the way to the filing step, then the software throws a VALIDATION Error. It needed to update the software before I could electronically file... Pain in the Butt. They could have easily determined that a software update was needed well before then.
Updates. Why so many questions and verifications in order to update the software. Yes, save the file, yes download the file, yes save my work, yes, yes, yes, yes RESTART the program. If I'm updating the software then YES save the files and save everything and do the update. I step away for a few minutes and I come back and its asking for more hand holding again.
The STUPID software verification and software licensing is horrible. Every time I went to update, it kept demanding to change my password. WHY?????
It printed the Massachusetts Estimated Tax Vouchers too wide to fit on the page. Other people reported this issue over a month ago, but the issue still persists. The issue is even in the professional version of the software. I had to adjust the scale of the page printed in Adobe Reader to get the ESTIMATE Voucher to fit.
The regular Massachusetts payment voucher printed OK. Go figure...
They didn't update the software for the change to the Massachusetts bank interest exclusion. There was a change in the Massachusetts law. TT correctly handled the change INTERNALLY, but NOT what was going as viewed by the user of the software.
I just happened to luck out and read online about the change and knew about it, but the software leads you to believe that the old rules are still in effect. I saw a lot of confusion online by users regarding the way TT presented the information and the change in the law.
I have lots of other nits with the software.
My full time job is a software quality assurance engineer. They desperately need my help!
