TurboTax, a good way to build mastery

Problems with TurboTax

Difficult to use, when the software locks you up, there is no way to go back and erase wher a mistaken entry is made as in the Area "Personal," under Div interest. I entered here the info which should have been entered under 1099-R. The system locked up and would not let me escape without entering bogus numbers that were not interest from Div. I tried every way I could but found no help unless I would pay $60.00.

Normally a great product, Investment interface bad

I have been using Turbotax for as long as it has existed and overall it is a great product, but this year a new interface for investments was introduced and it is a step backwards and created a lot of extra work for people that want to look at the details after the investments are electronically brought in from the investments companies. If you look at any it moves you to the top of the page and you need to page down with each investment.

Smartcheck does NOT check if IRS PIN is missing!

The 2024 version does NOT check if the IRS Identity Protection PIN is missing. It would be great if it does because it's not easy to see where to enter the PIN. Well hidden!
