Turbo tax stated not charging for electronic filing federal return. It was charging $40!!!
The frist tax return for the state filing should not be charged, however, it charged $25!!! I want a refund for the First state filing that suposed to be filed with no charge!!!

Good Software with some areas of improvement.

Had trouble filling out and understanding k-1s. Seems like an area in the software that need improving. Also bought and sold a house in the same year and had 3 1098 mortgage forms. Mortgage payments for the house that was sold and bought. Then the mortgage for the house that was bought was purchased by another lender. The software was very confusing and did not handle this situation well. Other than that, the software did a decent job!

First-Time User & Totally Impressed! Five star

This was my first time using TurboTax, and honestly, I was kinda nervous about doing my taxes on my own — but it was way easier than I expected. The whole process was super straightforward, and I loved how it explained everything in plain language (no confusing tax jargon!).
It felt like I had someone guiding me the whole way, and it even helped me find a few deductions I would've totally missed. I finished everything in one sitting and already got my refund faster than I thought.
Highly recommend if you're new to doing taxes — TurboTax made it painless!

Year after year, the option to add a password to protect the return file in the Windows desktop version is buggy. The requirements state that a password should be between 6 and 32 characters, so I provided a 20 character password. I was the presented with a pop-up stating that passwords should be between 6 and 16 characters. I selected Ok, and tried to submit my 20 character password again, but was once again presented with the same pop-up. This time I changed to a 16 character password, but that too resulted in the same pop-up. I eventually got tired to these nonsensical pop-ups and continued without adding a password to my return. As far as the actual content of the software, I feel like Turbo Tax presented questions differently this year, specifically about 1099's and Roth/Traditional IRAs. I found myself going down rabbit holes in those categories that I do not recall from previous years.
