Great, but still Room for Improvement

Overall, great. Suggestion for improvement: please don't make me do a bunch of work on credits and deductions I don't qualify for due to my income level. There's nothing more frustrating than spending 15 minutes on a bunch of questions, only to be told at the end that "You don't qualify because [insert stupid reason you could have asked me initially, and saved me a lot of trouble]"

Home office messed up real estate taxes

I have a home office for my business & own my own home. When I entered my real estate taxes in the home office worksheet, TurboTax created a negative tax payment in my itemized deductions, which I couldn't seem to override. Fortunately, the standard deduction wasn't much different than itemizing, but it kept messing up the pre-filing audits.

Good but possible software loop

I have used Turbo Tax to file our income taxes for over 20 years. This year I mistakenly purchased the Home and Business version when I really wanted the Business version. However, version was still useable for our filing. However, there was a software error as the program got stuck in a loop during the REVIEW phase. It kept doing the audit review repeatedly. I finally went to the FILE tab to complete the e-filing process.

Turbotax is Awful for California passive losses.

Program is not worth using if you are a California resident and have rental passive losses. The promised March 7th update did not fix the problem. IT's a problem in 2023 as well. I ended up typing in the rental data again. Try the competitor product. It probably can't be worse. I would like a refund for 2023 and 2024, please. Goodbye [from a user since 1994!]

I Have used Turbo Tax since 2009. I love the program but I do not care for the new layour..
Previously it was user friendly . Now it is difficult to folow. Importing was much more difficult, too many steps
Please return to the old format. Thank you.
