Mac version not as good as Windows

The Mac version is not as good as the Windows version. The first issue is the forced check and update every time you start the program. Even though it says 'we recommend' the update, there is no choice - you either update or exit. The second issue is that you can't do a what-if, if you change something, that is what is immediately saved - there is no option to exit without saving. You have to first make a copy in Finder and then go open a return you might change. The third issue is that when you enter 1099 info for business, they ask what it's for. Be careful what you enter because that text is used as the link to all your forms. So if you enter 'consultant' then all your forms are tied with 'consultant'. If you later enter a form or download a 1099 and you enter 'consulting', it is considered a different business. Going back to try to make both the same can cause the software to delete forms and that is a pain when you have entered a lot of details in the worksheets. Luckily, the worksheets were not deleted and I could change 'consulting' to 'consultant' and the forms were relinked to the worksheets but using free-form text to link documents is not good practice.

Turbo Tax processing

Some items are hard to find as far as where to record like how to apply a refund to the next year but overall fairly intuitive.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I bought or sold investments

They need to make it so you can increase the font size on the desktop version, it's really small and hard to see. Yes I'm getting older but that's not an excuse for them. Otherwise, it functions.

I've used Turbo Tax for about 15 years not. I DO NOT like having to download and I resent the whole subscription plan. I will not be doing so again, especially now that I've done my taxes and find the new software more confusing and less user friendly than in the past. Far too many questions referred to things in terms only a CPA understands. Some of the entries you wanted me to fix didn't allow me to fix. Too many boxes popping up wanting information that is either not available on my tax paperwork, or not applicable.
