Great Tax Filing Program

TURBO TAX WAS GLITCHY THIS YEAR

THERE WERE ERRORS SAYING I HAD A 1099-R WHEN I DID NOT THAT WAS DIFFICULT TO FIND AND FIX FOR SOME REASON TOOK SEVERAL EFFORTS THE X FOR A 1099-R COULD NOT BE REMOVED EXCEPT IN ERROR CHECK AND EVEN REMOVED THE PROGERAM STILL THOUGHT I HAD a 1099-R THE PROGRAM DID NOT MOVE ME FORWARD AUTOMATICALLY AND MISSED MY DEDUCTIONS FOR HEALTHCARE COSTS AND DEDUCTIONS AND OTHER DEDUCTIONS, DUE TO ISSUES MY EIC WAS MISS CALCULATED NUMEROUS TIMES. JUST BECAUSE I OWED NO TAXE DOES NOT MEAN MEDICAL DEDUCTIONS AND OTHERS WILL NOT AFFECT THE EIC

Great - Qualified

In general, the program worked well. I used the experts for a few questions which they answered. They were all knowledgable and friendly. One, however, sounded inebriated so I finished and called back because the program required an update before I could file. The on line explanation said to go to buttons that were not there, so I called for advice - - sketch, so I called back and Shantricia was a jewel. Update instructions did not apply to a MAC. All good now!

TurboTax is adequate.

I have been using tax preparation software for several years and formally was using Tax Act. I do think Tax Act is somewhat easier to use but it was not Crypto friendly. I switched to TurboTax for that reason. This is my second year using TurboTax and I am beginning to warm up to it.

TT is somewhat easy

In general: good experience but some issues i encounter often are:
I had difficulties in the following forms:
1) Form 1116: Foreign Tax credit. I always had problems in the past years for foreign income from Stocks/Mutual funds when it comes to claiming tax credit and the country (RIC or Various.
2) Form 8938: Statement of Specific Foreign Financial Assets
3) I received a Grantor Letter from some DST investment. and I had to go through a lengthy process to convert it to schedule E
4) Form 8815 Excludable interest on US EE bonds issued after 1989: The instruction is little confusing. I also had to combine the two contributions (2 Students) in one because when I import two 1099-INT forms from my bank. It only treats the first one imported
