A Poor Imitation of Pervious Versions

Some of the language used was cryptic, perhaps deliberately so, even the step by step instructions. I had do look up some of the terms and those definitions should have been available to me via hyperlink. It seemed as if the purpose could be to channel tax filers to get the expert advice. This is a poor imitation of what it was previously.

The product as usual with TurboTax is well organized. I got into a conflict with entering an IRA transfer which was resolved with use of expert advise. Although the knowledge of the experts is not equal or their logical approaches the same. I can't remember the expert's name but she helped make the issue apparent and thereby solvable by going through the forms side vs the usual step-by-step side. I have to say that once the proper correction was made the software functioned normally and the return completed!

Check your 8606 forms

I needed to completely delete the first 8606 worksheet generated because it wasn't filling it in appropriately and I couldn't even see the calculations because TurboTax doesn't fill in the information. The rest of the process went well.

Millennial Bugs

Since the inception of this program it's consistently had the same bugs. 1. When starting, it checks for updates. Fine, it then states that it will automatically restart. It never does, It never has. 2. When navigating backward and making changes, it doesn't always save the changes properly. It cashes data and doesn't re-calculate properly. 3. When asking for banking information for direct deposit, it displays the information and then prompts the user to enter the same information it just displayed to you. And if you are e-filing state also, it displays and prompts you again for the same information. Really! Is that really necessary?

We had trouble printing this year. It did not print from the print return button in the program. I had to download and then hover my curser over. I found the hack on the internet with other people having trouble too.
I have used turbo tax for several years never had this problem

Paying to file electronically was a pain.

Tried multiple times to e-file both federal and state returns. Could not get program to take a credit card number. It did want my name and adress but that's as far as it went.
