Disappointed that Turbo Tax did not email me when my returns were not accepted due to an error that their review should have caught. Corrected & re-filed and still no progress emails. Otherwise a good experience.

REALLY BAD!!!!!!!!!

This new program is really bad, and it does not transfer the previous year to the new one and asks too many dumb questions. (Penelope the dependent is 3 years old and the system asks if she contribute over $5,000 to her living expenses. the home address it keeps asking if it's in the United States, plus too many other dumb things. I also had to pay for the State E-filing even when I have a one Free State E-Filing. I WANT MY MONEY BACK

TurboTax - great for Fed / meh for State filing

I have used Turbo Tax for 20 years. In general, the step by step / QA format is much easier than the actual forms are themselves (the 2018 Fed cuts actually shifted to WORSE labeling on the actual forms). The STATE side of the Turbo Tax experience is far worse; I have filed in 5 states using TT. The Q&A on state side shows no thought about turning tax language into real human language, it just parrots the clunky wording on state forms. And I'm paying a premium ($45 per state form! $25 to file!) to do it. The federal side value is 4 /5 stars, the state side value is 2.5 / 5 stars.
