Very Good Eperience

Overall the process was very easy and seamless. However, there is an issue with the K-1 process. Box 20 on my k-1 had a z and the amount was zero but turbo tax wouldn't accept that and when I tried to uncheck the check box for box 20 it wouldn't let me so I had to delete it and start over again.

Go Back to Old style for entering Income Sources

I know what I am doing, no worth paying money for this.
This year's TurboTax Version:
I absolutely do NOT like the interface for Income for Dividends, Interest, and all 1099's being combined. It was far better in the older style you have used for years and years, so one picks each category and enters information. I don't understand as the Income Sections are by type, but when you go to update them, TURBO Tax throws you into a colloge of all the categories together. I found this very time consuming, as my records are organized by various types of Income

Turbo Tax good for first time users and self-file

First time to use Turbo Tax and to process our tax return ourselves without a CPA. After I looked around a while, I learned where things were located. I opted to be guided through so that nothing would be overlooked. The questions were pretty straightforward. We were warned that Turbo Tax is not intuitive. We had worked with it since Nov 2024 and did feel confused. After we finally got all the tax forms, W2s etc. then we had the materials to complete the process and it all fell into place. This was also a good way to learn about taxes and find out answers for any questions you may have. I would not recommend trying to do this with a short time limit or deadline.
