Using TurboTax for years now...

I've been using TurboTax for years now... Actually I use it to prepare what I'm going to present to my Tax Accountant.
This way I'm not giving the accountant multiple piles of bills, invoices, payment acknowledgements and other miscellaneous papers. I am able to provide the accountant everything they need, to prepare my personal and LLC returns in a consistent form that we both have copies of and can relate to when there are questions or recommendations from the accountant.

TurboTax will make you a CPA for a day :)

Only the savvy survive

Adequate, yet filled with pitfalls. Requires extensive knowledge of tax law to get an accurate result. In particular this year, the handling of qualified 529-to-Roth IRA rollovers is a hot mess in both Federal and California tax preparation using TT. (Per TT support: Don't enter the rollover 1099-Q on the Federal return at all, even though the program asks for it. Do enter the Earnings portion, but not the Gross Distribution, in your California return.)
Should you enter something that isn't quite right--usually due to ambiguous instructions or omitted information--forensic capabilities are required to go back and identify the problem and delete erroneous forms before you file. Pay scrupulous attention, review the actual forms before you send, and good luck.
