TurboTax was Frustrating

The process for inputting retirement RMD was wrong. With 2 1099R forms from the same brokerage it double counted the RMD. The system then advised not to file the return, that TurboTax changes were pending, and to check later. After 2 weeks no changes! I had to work around your process, sum the 2 1099R and input the sum as a single 1099R entry. Frustrating and delayed my refund a couple of weeks. PS In submitting this review I must create a unique Nickname that no one else has used - more frustration

Average experience using the Deluxe package. Not bad, not great. Explanations could be better when trying to understand whether a particular section/article is applicable to you.

Not Loving Turbo Tax This Year!

This year for the first time, I had to enter my charitable contributions manually because Turbo Tax would not "easily import" my Its Deductible information. Very inconvenient.

TurboTax is (almost) always very good. However, the 2024 updates to how investment income is shown are not very good - I liked the old way better.
ALSO, when importing information, PLEASE OFFER the user the ability to alter the name - for example, my wife and I have separate accounts with the same brokerage and when importing, TurboTax names the imported data with the brokerage company name which can cause confusion or even mistakes in when adding missing data - I would have two files named BROKERAGE FIRM, please either alter the second file name to BROKERAGE FIRM 2 or allow the user to rename it.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

TurboTax is not what it used to be!

The product has gotten bloated and worse over time. The text is small, the buttons to click are small, and the number of times I had to scroll to the bottom of the screen to click a button only to be shown a blank screen that I had to rescroll back to the top to see the next screen of questions was insane. It appears that NO ONE tested this software for usability. Another problem came when I could also see a left half of a banner saying that something needed reviewing, but there was no way to scroll to the right side of the window except for highlighting text to move to the right side of the screen. I tried resizing the window, but it kept everything in the same size column with half of the information not visible. Terrible programming. Also, when downloading information from banks, etc., it put me into a loop saying that information was still needed from a bank it had already downloaded all of the information from. I ended up having to type it in manually because the software wouldn't use the information provided otherwise. Very annoying! Another thing—this is a piece of software...it couldn't even save my driver's license information for filing the federal and state documents and I had to go back across the house for them a second time after putting them away. Why isn't this information saved? Upon hitting e-file, the software also stopped and asked for some further clarification on a couple of information boxes. Why wasn't this done during the two other "checking your return for errors" sweeps that it had already performed? I'm totally considering going out to a CPA to get my taxes done after this fiasco.
