Please return to 2023 tax year program. This one was most confusing on trying to get to worksheets and backtrack in inputs. Newer is not always better!

2024 Mac desktop SW / user interface difficulties.

Using 2024 TY MAC TurboTax: (1) incorrectly assumes worked in two states based on data entered years ago and brought forward every year since. (2) Fed + NJ: Medical FSA reimbursements for medical expenses entered into Fed interview results in overestimate of Medical Expenses presented to user in NJ interview. AND no direction to user this is happening AND no explanation of how to adjust. (Many people have reported this) (3) The 2024 TY changed user interface for entering Dividend and interest income is not intuitive nor is it clear how to get back to user interface used in the past. Unnecessarily cumbersome when entering this data by hand instead of importing it. SW seems to assume you have imported the information.

Always straight forward when following the tutorial method. My taxes are pretty simple.
However, you need to provide better instructions on IRA RMD withdrawals when you want them tax exempt with QCDs. I tried to find guidance, but it was pretty minimal. So, I just guessed and worked my way through it.

Turbo Tax Makes it Easy!

I appreciate the step by step guidance Turbo Tax provides to get my taxes filed. It's the simplified language that makes it very easy to navigate through the returns. I hired a tax preparer one year and I came back with a page full of questions and revisions, after entering my tax return information into Turbo Tax. He agreed with every change/question I pointed out. It was the first year after my husband passed and it was suggested to me that I not try to prepare the return on my own. My husband always took care of that task every year. With the help of Turbo Tax, I have the confidence that I can file, with accuracy, on my own.
