Mostly good, with some limitations

Overall TurboTax works well. There is a difficult balance between making it easy enough to follow while also allowing for editing. I found that the NC state package was not nearly as easy to navigate and adjust as the VA state package. Because of limitations of the software on Mac, I ended up having to manually prepare my NC return myself. It took a lot of time to realize the NC state package would not work. The page where you do wage allocation for in-state vs out-of-state income is not editable on a Mac. If you move into the state but keep your same previous job working remotely, there is no way to split this W-2 income on the Mac version in the NC package. The VA package has a page where this can be done easily.
