Very disappointing to now have to pay 45 extra for audit defense to e file the return. federal return can only be e filed. why lie then? say its going to be 45 to file the federal return.

Intuit no longer our friend

I've been a Turbotax user since 1997 and a Mac-in-Tax user before that. I completely resent the efforts that Intuit is making to lobby our government to protect their market position and discourage tax simplification. Further demonstration of Intuit's ill-will toward consumers was just demonstrated by the sly effort to add a $40 processing fee for premium service when I attempted to use a portion my federal refund to pay the $25 filing fee. I live near Intuit HQ and have friends that work for the compan. One notable tech company had a motto of "Don't be evil" and I am truly disappointed in Intuit's evil behavior.

Caution - Audit Defense protection 1 yr only

Turbo Tax failed to inform people that the Audit Defense coverage is only for 1 year. If you purchase Audit Defense independently outside of Turbo Tax through website, the same coverage is for statue of limitations (3 years). This is very deceptive and is not explained within Turbo Tax when asked to purchase. I found out by accident while preparing taxes.
