Easy to Use

It is mostly very easy to follow the prompts. I had a few questions which I had to click on for further explanation, and there was one area about personal property tax vs. car registration in Arkansas that I had to look for further explanation online.
I also received a letter this year that there may have been a problem with the software on last year's Arkansas return. It appeared I had to go through the process of refiling to see if I was entitled to a bigger refund, but it seemed like a hassle to do so, so I opted not to do it. Hopefully all will be well this year.

Sluggish Performance on MacOS

The good points are easy import from Quicken and my financial institution. I also like the ability to scan a W-2 and have the OCR pull the scan into the program. However, when you get a corrected tax form, the import process can result in duplicates and requires close reconciliation. The worst part of the program remains how sluggish it runs on MacOS. The application remains compiled for Intel chips which haven't been used in a Mac for the past several years. This is a long standing issue with TurboTax. There is no good reason the application can not be compiled into universal binary as a bare minimum.

I liked that a lot of the boxes were filled from last year's information....turbotax remembers a lot. thats good
I also liked that I could get help pretty easily with the installation as I needed some help w the codes
I go audit defense for free....I'm not sure why..... I put in my cr card info and the charge was zero. Another good thing

First major issue with TTax siince using in 1993

I'm confused by request for IRS exception for IRA RMD shortfall. Broker errored in amount removed ($2800) which will cause a $700 penalty. I used TTax to try to send in the reason, but the form exited after your warning not to submit taxes until after IRS did something ... left me confused. So I went back and reentered data not checking TTax to send reason, meaning I will be penalized for not taking enough RMD. During Smart Check, a formed appeared that didn't make sense and it did not have a back space. It wasn't until after I reentered the data that I realized it was probably the excuse form that was meant for my RMD shortfall. I'm totally confused on how and if I'll be billed the $700. Other than that, TTax work fine. This was my first major issued since I started using TTax in I believe 1993.
