I was not prompted to enter my IP PIN and my return was rejected. It was corrected per the instructions and was re-submitted. The printing methodology changed ands was not explained until I found the procedure used via the help prompt.

New Features Changed My Experience

I experienced difficulty with the electronic download delivery of the software and starting it. The software kept routing me to the online version for free filing. I needed to restart it and bypass the bad routing to get to my PC application. I then had a problem figuring out how to enter multiple interest sources (four attempts) before I stumbled on the solution.

TurboTax 24 is OK, but overpriced.

It worked ok, froze up a few times, especially when trying to download tax forms from Schwab. Expensive e-filing cost for state returns.

Always some bugs

I had to switch back and forth between "step by step" and "forms" to make sure every entry was correct. I was never prompted to enter my QCD's, so I had to find the right form and enter it manually. Also, I was prompted three times to download the IA state return, even though every time I clicked "download". And I was prompted several times to download a Washington State return, even though turbotax had said I didn't need to file for WA return

TurboTax is Good but could be better . .

Product is expensive for simple process returns. Past years versions of TurboTax seemed more intuitive. The 2024 app presented a few ambiguous fields resulting in more analysis and sometimes arbitrary guessing insofar as correct input.

Issues with write-offs & printing forms
on March 2, 2025

W2 had expenses at home related to job. Entered on forms but kept getting message that it needed to be reviewed with no explanation. Apparently, Federal tax no longer allows such expenses but State does. Wasn't aware software should have noted it so I could move on. Also issue this year with printing returns. Numbers on the right side of form get cut off. Had to run another set of reports landscape to see the numbers on the return.
