Everything was set to go for E-filing and had no errors. But..... when I hit file my return, it found a bunch of boxes that had not been checked properly. Why didn't it find those errors during the check before filing.

Overall Excellent with Two Minor Quibbles

Overall, it was excellent as usual. I had two issues that are minor quibbles. First, having started part time driving with LYFT this past year, having to essentially do the Schedule C manually was a challenge. Some Googling found my answers. Second, I received a 1099-NEC due to a payment I received from the Solar Company that installed by solar panels when I recommended friends to them who bought. I wasn't aware of selecting the correct checkbox when entering the details on the amount that basically said the check was received by an individual, not a payment to a business. I only realized this when I popped up on screens asking questions about my business name, etc. Again some Google research found my answer. If I run into this next year, I now know how to handle them. Note: these were more my lack of knowledge, not a problem with the software.

I have been using turbo tax for a few years now and I like how it walks you through everything. I do however feel like it is false advertising to state that we get a "free" state return and then charge us for it

TT is thorough and easy to use

TT Deluxe makes it easy to complete my taxes. However, I deducted a STAR because this year (2024) TT would not import my Fidelity and Vanguard 1099's. My son said it wouldn't import his W-2. We have been successfully importing from these companies in the previous years and waited for a fix that never came. Hope it will be resolved for 2025.
