Not happy!

I have used Turbo Tax for many years and was very disappointed that I was unable to use it on my personal computer because of the upgrade. Buying another computer was not an option and not necessary as my current computer is in perfect condition. It is sad that Intuit can't make a program that will work on computers with IOS of less than the new program. I had to borrow a computer to complete my taxes and am very unhappy with that issue. Not sure that I will use Turbo Tax in the future!

We have been using Turbo Tax for a number of years. Used the Deluxe version With State. Only downside is, while the E-file for Federal is Free, they want to charge an additional $20 to $25 just to E-file your state tax forms. I think that it is an excessive amount. Not sure why it would cost them so much to send an E-mail. Last I checked it doesn't cost me anything to send emails.

TurboTax Improvement Suggestions

I have used TurboTax for many years. This year there were new questions relating to new tax items and no info was provided to help me decide how to answer. For example, what are disaster distributions? How are they different than stimulus checks? Also, when a correction is needed, link to the form where the error is too that I can be sure I am correcting the right form. It seems like there was less explanation of things this year, thus my lower rating.

Recommended Update to Income Section

Recommended update: Income Summary Section under “Retire Plans and Social Security,” separate the 1099-Rs related to IRAs, particularly those 1099-Rs with the IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box checked. This will help identify the source of funds on Form 1040, Line 4a (IRA distributions). Presently, when identifying the source of the funds on this line by selecting the magnifying glass, it displays all 1099-Rs. This is incorrect. Likewise, on Form 1040, Line 5a (Pensions and annuities), when identifying the fund sources, it displays all 1099-Rs. Again, incorrect because the line should not include IRA 1099-Rs.
