i HAVE BEENUSING TURBOTAX FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS OR SO. EACH YEAR, THE PROGRAM IS EASIER TO USE AND I ESPECIIALLY LIKE THE INFORMATION HELPS ON EACH ITEM. I HAVE FOUND ANSWERS TO MANY OF MY QUESTIONS THRU THIS OPTION! AND NOT TO FORGET THE TURBOTAX CUSTOMER SERVICE FOLKS! THEY HAVE BEEN A TREMENDOUS HELP TO ME OVER THE YEARS!

Few glitches

Had to scroll down after every section in income and deductions. Waste of time. Am unable to find where to check for refund status. Tried opening help section but did not open therefore NO HELP.

TurboTax is Great, but not perfect

I am generally very happy with TurboTax. It is a great time saver and gives me confidence that my taxes are done right, with minimal risk of failing any audit. However, I find one area that should be improved. I have a couple of tax-exempt funds. TT allows me to enter the 1099-DIV info and at the end asks me to break the tax exempt dividends into home state (NY, in my case) and non-home state (multi-state, in my case) bins. Presumably TT should then add the non-home state dividends to the income stream in my state return, then tax accordingly. However, this does not work, and it is not the first time I've run into this. I find comments out on the TT help site identifying this very problem. There is a work-around that I've had to employ, but it requires separating those in-state and non-home state incomes in the database, which makes it messy and from year to year is difficult to reproduce why I had to separate those incomes in the database. Seems like a simple problem to fix, but it's been around for years.
